Meet the Cook…William Pitka

August 16, 2012

Hello again. Days have been good to us here in Quinhagak and things around camp are running smoothly…and dinner is always ready for the archaeologists, all thanks to our wonderful cook, William Pitka.
William currently lives with his companion Emma here in Quinhagak. Originally from Upper Kalskag, he came to Quinhagak around the year 2000. He really enjoys spending time outdoors for subsistence gathering; whether it’s fishing, hunting, or gathering berries and/or greens. He was also previously employed by Coastal Villages Seafoods as the cook in 2011.
Keep up the GREAT work William!
