Artefact of the Day 5/8

SONY DSCSONY DSCThe artefact of the day was found by Paul when he was vigorously attacking the northwestern wall. It was not in the wall, however, but in the house floor under it. The artefact is (not a dinosaur as some people suggested, but) a bird effigy – possibly a puffin or a duck. It may have had a beak attached to its nose. We have not found any similar objects at the site, although bird- and other animals effigies are quite plentiful. John Smith suggested it might have been a float, which seems quite plausible, but at this point we are still guessing…
