Artefact of the Day 8/7

July 11, 2017

The artefact of the day was found by Richard in the housefloor directly under the western part of the boardwalk. It’s a net gauge with original wrapping left on the handle.

A net gauge is used when binding nets, and the size of the gauge determines what kind of fish (or what size fish rather) the net is meant for.

I would like to see that artifact in actual use. Amazing it is so intact.
