Artefact of the day 15th of July

July 16, 2017

The artefact of the day is a fish lure made out of mammoth ivory. The small holes on the sides once held bright pieces of pyrite to attract fish. This lure was found by (a very excited) Lucy on her very first day at site. It was hiding in a small house floor that have been cut by one of the many boardwalks.

What a nice find!!! I can imagine it with pyrite shining on the sides. How fortunate Lucy found it on her first day.
