Artefact of the Day, July 10

The artefact of the day is half a full size mask found by Alice in the very base of a wall resting on an older house floor in the older part of the site. The mask is curious as it looks to have owl eyes, but to be a seal or walrus if you look at the bottom part of the face. It has the same characteristics as two masks we found last year – a seal and an owl – in this same old house. A seal-owl transformation perhaps?

The mask find caused some havoc ( 😉 ) in the trench, and thus deserves some more images…
