The artefact of the day is a beautifully carved ivory toggle shaped as the head of a smiling caribou. It was found by Lauren at the very base of an extended wall in the old house – dating to c. 1540.
1540? Now that is a long time ago and yet an artful eye carved this beautiful object. Amazing!
