Artefact of the Day July 17

July 18, 2018

37380891_2016067615094830_8043139840235012096_nThe artefact of the day is a very rare find – it is a complete throwing board for a child. We have found a few fragments of throwing boards for grown ups, but no complete one. The grip on this one is the same as the ones we have for grown ups, but it is clearly made for a small hand. The grip on this board, and our other boards, differs in design from those seen on post-contact boards in ethnographic collections.

The board was found in the old house on what we believe is the very first house floor in the central part of the house.
