Artefact of the Day July 19

July 21, 2018

The artefact of the Day is a large ceramic pot. It was found by Anna in, or under, a floor floor just by the wall at the edge of the oldest house floor in the northwestern part of the oldest site. It seems to have been placed in a little pit or dug out straight into natural, so we think it is a storage vessel. It is one of the largest ceramic vessels we have found at the site, and is almost complete, but the sherds are in very poor condition.
